Position Summary

Temporary/Part-Time
Lecturers Department of Landscape Architecture

The School of Architecture and Planning is seeking temporary,
part-time Lecturers to teach graduate level courses in the Landscape
Architecture Graduate Degree Program. Lecturers are appointed to teach one
course during the Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 semesters.  Applications
received by these dates will have the best consideration for the
positions. The positions are open until filled.

Spring 2019 – December  17, 2018

Fall 2019- April 24, 2019


The Landscape Architecture Graduate Degree Program is offered in the School of Architecture and Planning. Other professional programs
in the School include Architecture, and Community & Regional Planning.
The Master of Landscape Architecture Degree Program at
The University of New Mexico is committed to providing a strong and comprehensive graduate education designed to prepare graduates to enter the profession of landscape architecture as private, public or academic practitioners; and, to promote research and inquiry that contributes to knowledge in the discipline. The core educational mission of the program is the investigation of principles and theories of Landscape Architecture, their application as tools for critical thinking and their synthesis in design thinking, as they apply to issues of the Southwest and in a larger world context of social, cultural, environmental and evolutionary influences on the landscape.

 The School of Architecture and Planning is housed on UNM’s main
campus in the award-winning George Pearl Hall, designed by architect AntoinePredock. In addition to the spacious, naturally-lit design studios, the building has a Fabrication Lab and Computer/Print Lab.

Position Summary   
The Department of Landscape Architecture is
seeking candidates who have expertise in any of the following areas:


Landscape Architectural Design at a variety of scales
Digital applications including Adobe Suite, Rhino, 3D Studio Max, Sketchup, GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D

Landscape Architecture Materials and Construction Technology
Ecology, Urban Ecology and Sustainable Landscape Design
Plants and Planting Design
ProfessionalPractice in Landscape Architecture
Research methods 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field. OR Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, and three years as a practicing landscape architect AND current Professional License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Landscape Architecture or related field
  • Professional practice experience
  • Teaching experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and
    student success
