Position Summary

UNM Athletics Special Events seeks an Athletic Field Tech 2.

Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Mowing, painting, fertilizing grass fields almost daily using landscape equipment (i.e. mowers, aerators, painter and other equipment)

·         Repairing baseball and softball mounds and infield dirt on a daily basis

·         Maintain landscaping by removing weeds, trash, mowing, and fertilizing

·         Work with irrigation tech on irrigation repairs

·         Set-up fields for sports practices, games and events

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required in this position.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with athletic/sports field maintenance at high school, college, or higher (professional, minor leagues) level
