Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking candidates for temporary, part-time faculty to teach 1000 and 2000 level Fine Arts courses. This will be a recruitment for spring 2027 semester.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical vocational programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit High School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Fine Arts
  • One year of fine arts teaching experience at the post-secondary level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MFA in Fine Arts (or related field)
  • One year of fine arts teaching experience at a community college
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
