This application is for Fall 2018 hiring only.

Location Supervisors are undergraduate and graduate students that supervise specific CAPS locations, provide logistical support for the tutoring services offered to UNM students, and ensure smooth operations that align with the culture of a location. Location supervisors undergo extensive training in preparation to perform the following responsibilities:

  • Oversees efficient operation of a specific CAPS location
  • Facilitates CAPS services, ensure that students are served in a way that promotes learning
  • Provides coordination and expertise for CAPS services as they pertain to a particular location and/or student population
  • Provides mentorship for CAPS student employees and models professionalism and good customer service at their location
  • Disseminates accurate information to student users regarding services and programs offered by CAPS
  • Plans and co-facilitates bi-monthly trainings for CAPS tutors, SI leaders, and/or Student Resource Representatives
  • Participates in Student Manager meetings and Friday trainings throughout the academic semester
  • Assists staff on assignments and projects as needed
  • Makes informed decisions and take appropriate actions to maintain the integrity of CAPS programs without direct oversight/ supervision
  • Acts as liaison between CAPS personnel and campus locations
  • Upholds and models CAPS policies
  • Other duties as assigned related to your program/team

Requirements for Consideration

  • 20-30 hour work week availability; evening and weekend availability
  • Attendance at pre-semester trainings (week before classes begin)
  • Attendance at Friday trainings (2pm-5pm)
  • Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours at the University of New Mexico in a degree seeking program
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
