Programmer Analyst 2 or 3

Position Summary

Under limited supervision, coordinate with users to develop specifications for reports. Advise users on technical issues involving data, forms and reports. Create technical and end user documentation. Develop and troubleshoot complex reports in various reporting environments including Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and APEX. Troubleshoot problems in tables, reports, views and packages. Migrate packages and reports through various environments. Apply appropriate security for reporting. Create ad hoc reports as required using various tools including Toad, Access
and Excel. Develop and maintain tables, packages, procedures, triggers and views in Banner and the ODS. Develop and troubleshoot mappings in Oracle Warehouse builder. Develop and maintain other database applications in an HR/Payroll environment. Liaise with technical and end users in other departments to develop the most appropriate reporting solutions.

 

Salary for Programmer Analyst 2:  $3,424.31 min-$5,151.47 mid

Salary for Programmer Analyst 3:  $3,956.33 min-$5,924.53 mid

Minimum Qualifications

For Programmer Analyst 2: Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. For Programmer Analyst 3: Bachelor's degree; at least 2 year of progressively responsible and directly related experience. Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong Knowledge

  • Oracle SQL and Database Concepts
  • Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers

Some Knowledge

  • Oracle Applications Express (APEX)
  • ​Ellucian ODS (Operational Data Store) database and security administration, performance tuning and optimization, ETL (Extract,Transform, and Load) to stream data from Banner to ODS.
  • Oracle Data Integrator/Oracle Warehouse Builder
  • TOAD for Oracle
  • Appworx (Automic Scheduling Tool)
  • Banner Security Administrator
  • Unix Shell Scripting
  • SFTP File Transfers

PL/SQL Coding Sample
Cover Letter to Include:
  • Work experience related to developing APEX applications.
  • Work experience developing and delivering complex reports in an HR Payroll environment using various reporting tools.
  • Proficiency/expertise in developing and maintaining packages, procedures, triggers, views and tables using PL/SQL.
  • Proficiency in developing complex SQL queries to extract data from multiple data sets.
  • Work experience with Oracle Warehouse builder.
  • Level of proficiency with report scheduling tools, e.g. AppWorx.
  • Proficiency creating UNIX Shell scripts.
  • Proficiency/expertise in producing clear and concise technical and end-user documentation.
