The University of New Mexico, College of Nursing invites application for a Nurse Educator to work at Health Science Simulation Center and/or Health Science Rio Rancho campus. Nurse Educators will facilitate simulation educational activities and follow established nursing processes, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation in simulation. This is an on campus position that requires direct in person facilitation. The selected candidate will assist in preparing equipment for simulation events. The Candidate will demonstrate proficiency MS Office Suite and effective communication skills both written and verbal.
Responsibilities include supervision of nursing students. The Nurse Educator will collaborate with the Director of Simulation in the delivery and evaluation of simulation. Nurse educator must stay current with all clinical procedures, technologies and maintain a current RN license. It is expected that the Nurse educator will complete the Certified Health Care Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification within 3 years of date of hire.

Associate's degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multi-state privilege to practice compact with New Mexico.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
